Greeting from Penny

We stumbled across your content online and are curious to learn more how to manage arousal. Penny is generally a manageable dog but when she runs into her triggers like barking dogs or anxiety about one us getting into the car, she’s so strong and excited we can’t reliably handle her. We’ve learned that we can’t really “reach” her when she’s in that over aroused state (7-10).

For the “toss the cookies” exercise, is it important to just use the food your dog normally eats with meals? Hereunto we’ve worked using treats and some higher value stuff like cheese, bread or tortillas.

New Gal here 🤗

Hi, I'm Jess. My best bud's name is Indigo. He's 3½. I'm 27 🤣 (add 20). Indigo & I just wrapped up 6 weeks with Jerri. We are motivated! We work everyday! We have made positive changes for both of us n will continue doing so. I'm already seeing the changes take place in my dog 🥹

Jerri is a fabulous n amazing leader & teacher. That motivates me even more!

I'm happy to be here with ya'll. Thanks for the invite Jerri.

Ps I didn't know you had this group!

is there anything you've been able to add to eliminate from your habits? i removed all my guilt about having my big guy on a drag line. i also started filming the dogs "vibing" to really hone in on thier relaxed body language.
